little wonders

one of our favorite things is to go on walks to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. javan loves looking up at the trees as we pass under them. he seems mesmerized by the colorful leaves blowing in the wind. i will miss this when the trees are bare and it's too cold for a walk..

5 months!

on october 21st javan was officially 5 months old!

he is such a joy each and every day. he is getting more and more personality, laughing and smiling at us all the time. his bottom 2 teeth popped through this week!! he is rolling like crazy, and not wanting to stay in one place for too long. he is sleeping better at night since we started giving him a big bottle before bed. last night he even went 12 hours between feedings, only waking up once to have his diaper changed! that is a record for him.. he loves to hear himself "talk" and will make silly noises and then laugh at himself. it's so cute:)

Pennsylvania

our first family vacation! we flew out to PA to visit jared's brother andrew and his family.. javan did great on the airplane. it was a great time. so wonderful to spend time with family! we miss having them closer. here he is at a pumpkin patch with his cousins ethan and justus.

Javan is 4 months old!!!

wow, time flies. it's hard to believe our little baby (who isn't so little anymore) is already 4 months old. this past month has been filled with lots of laughs and smiles, becoming more interactive and aware, and finding comfort in thumb sucking when he is tired. he has also discovered that he has feet and likes to stare at them and watch them move, and also grabs at them from time to time. this past month we have become adjusted to me returning to work part time. javan does great with daddy the nights i am gone and has figured out that a bottle isn't so bad after all :) at his 4 month check up, our little man weighed in at 16#5 and was 26.75 inches long (95% for length!!) i think he is going to be tall like his daddy. we thank God for 4 months of life with our sweet boy. he brings us so much joy each and every day.

3 months

i can't believe our little guy was 3 months old on aug 21st! he is such a joy. so many smiles and laughs.. he is making lots of cooing noise and loves to hear himself "talk". he has discovered his hands and will just stare at them as they move. he has also found his thumb/fingers and will suck on them quite often. he is getting better at putting himself to sleep in his crib. he is so observant and will be completely entertained laying on his back looking at his toys. he is such a big boy! 15#6oz and 26.5 inches already. he is growing up so fast. we are so incredibly thankful that he is in our lives.
